PHP showing a 500 error
No changes on my behalf, so I suspect either a broader systemic problem or some foul play. My f2s hosted domain (and blog spcifically) is showing a 500 error on this url http://www.bellebouche.com/blog/
Internal Server Error File "/websites/LinuxPackage04/be/ll/eb/bellebouche.com/public_html/blog/index.php" is writeable by others suPHP 0.6.3 I've loogged a support ticket with f2s - anyone else have any issues or insight? |

Re: PHP showing a 500 error
My PHP scripts are fine as long as I don't set the file permissions so other users have write access. Maybe they changed their setup if its only started happening recently. If you change the file permissions for index.php in your FTP client so only the owner has write permissions (so it's 644 or -rw -r--r--), I think that should fix it.

Re: PHP showing a 500 error
I am not aware that we have made any changes but I am waiting for confirmation on this just in case we have installed any security patches.
Anyway, the advise from Adam should fix your issue. If it doesnt, please let me know and I'll have a look for you. Last edited by Antonio_f2s; 20-02-2009 at 12:07 PM. Reason: typo |

Re: PHP showing a 500 error
Adam and Antonio - thanks for your input.
I'd not made any changes of late - what was working last night was no longer working this morning. I'm using an off-the-shelf wordpress blog under http://www.bellebouche.com/blog path. The default starter page was index.php I've checked the CHMOD attributes for the /blog/ folder (correct) and the index.php within it. I'll attempt to flex them up/down as per the advice and report back. |

Re: PHP showing a 500 error
Edit for complete change in fortunes
![]() Changing the permissions on the containing folder to 755 and the original file to 644 has partially brought it back to life. I say partially as I'm still missing some component parts but again these look like forther permissions changes are required to some elements. It's fixable I think... but I am puzzled why it's suddenly changed and PHP is requiring these elemental changes. Last edited by adrianfoden; 20-02-2009 at 05:09 PM. |
