WARNING! Email scam

I received an email this morning purporting to come from the eNom Central Support Team claiming invalid contact information in the Whois database for my domain.

I have forwarded the email with full headers to the abuse team at Freedom2Surf.

The headers show the email orginated in Russia.

Be warned!

Jeff.

Re: WARNING! Email scam

Yeah, I got this through a different provider also.

I even for a giggle clicked the link and Firefox flagged up as web forgery.

People should take very special care.

Re: WARNING! Email scam

Thunderbird had already warned me that it thought it was a scam. So Thunderbird+Firefox seems like a good way to protect yourself twice over .

(I'd have recognised it as a scam anyway without the warning. But some people might be taken in.)
