port forwarding ...
Is it possible to do port forwarding in reference to accessing a mysql database at freedom2surf?
I read that I could use putty to create a ssh tunnel and use my mysql query browser to access my database at freedom2surf. So, if it's possible to do this, how would I do it? Also, my local machine is running Windows XP. |

I don't think so no, since you can't access SSH on freedom2surf servers with PuTTY to create the tunnel.
The easiest means would be to ask them to allow access from your IP to your database. - But the chances of them being flexible enough to do this isn't high.

Thanks for clarifying about SSH and tunneling. Now, I get why it doesn't work with f2s. It's actually okay -- just wanted to get some experience doing port forwarding. Regards, php4ever |
