F2S acknowledge there is a problem with MySQL

Did everybody else receive the F2S service update of 12th October 2006?

There was a piece on the MySQL database.

We are aware that a number of customers have experienced issues with websites that use the f2s MySQL database server. We are working hard to ensure that impact is kept to a minimum whilst we implement fixes and work to install a replacement database server is currently underway. New servers are planned and we will update all customers using MySQL once details have been finalised.

Its good to see the issue has been officially acknowledged. So let's hope that this will be resolved soon...

Yes I hope so. If they are replacing the server, hopefully they will use a newer version of MySQL since people have been asking for a newer version for a long time.

I'll be long gone before they impliment this change, I've almost decided where to move my websites to and the other sites I look after at F2S will be coming with me, if my choice turns out OK.

Thursday night was terrible, trying to update a website via PHP forms was a joke. The site owner relies on his site to advertise his skills and bring in work, a poor response from his website spoils his chances.
