Feel like I've had a small lobotomy and forgotten all I knew about webhosting!

I have a domain registered with a company other than f2s and want to point that domain at f2s webhosting. Can't find out what I need to change the DNS A record to point to.

Anyone know?

Not being able to find this and other such information is the reason I don't use f2s web space.

Ahh, I'd thought you'd have known this!

Tradtionally it wasn't possible to point a domain at f2s.com webhosting, but you could redirect to it. Also it was not possible to point a domain registered elsewhere at paid for webspace, you'd have to transfer it in.

Not sure if it still is like that, but it was in the good old days

Hmmm. Told you I had developed a brain vacuum!

Redirecting won't work for my purposes so looks like I'll be going elsewhere for webhosting - any recommendations - ideally looking to pay a similar amount as I have been to f2s but must have the ability to DNS point rather than re-direct. I'm running Joomla, so mysql/php is a pre-requisite...

I've used NetHosted for years and found them to be pretty good. Their support is usually very responsive which I like.

With DNS it's usually easiest to change your DNS servers to the NetHosted ones, so if you e.g. create subdomains things just work, but I think just changing your A record with your domain registrar/DNS provider will also work.

Edit: Their prices do start at a bit more than F2S, but I think it's worth it for the better features, control panel and support.

Would have answer this earlier but lately I am very busy....

Justin is right, it is not possible to point a domain register somewhere else to F2S web space....
