Server status mismatch
Freedom2support server status says all OK
F2S server status for the last few days says the mail server has problems I believe the latter so is the support status ever trustworthy? |

Freedom2Support server status are basic checkers only to check if the servers are on or offline, it's not able to perform detailed checks.
The official F2S status system is done manually I believe and as you can see clicking leads you to detailed reports/current status of the related problem, it's nothing like the freedom2support server status checkers, which have been around a lot longer than the F2S status system (which was used from nildrams site) and has been a lot more useful in the past when F2S had nothing. so to answer your question, yes the checkers on freedom2support are trustworthy, because they do their job reliably. obviously if there are mail delays, the freedom2support checkers cant report that, because they only report if a server is on or offline. Think about it. If you want to try and get more details about the problem you are suffering, you will have to contact Freedom2surf. |

No, it's not trustworthy - It was built on purpose to mislead everyone. Thats why we put the text in explaining just the way it works.

Moved from Broadband to Website Comments, Suggestions & News because this is about the site and not F2S broadband.
As acidtechno says the Freedom2Surf system status website is updated (sometimes... eventually...) by humans, and humans are much better at spotting problems with computers than computers are. Our server status page only does a very simple check, which is checking it can open a TCP connection on a certain port (110 for POP3, 25 for SMTP etc) to a F2S server. It is completly automated, and there's no way we could make it automatically check for all possible problems with a service.
