Disappointing that only 119 users took part, considering the number of f2s subscribers there must be, plus there are 4300+ members on this forum (although only a fraction will be "active" of course).

Don't forget a huge proportion of the 4300 members will now be on different ISP's with different email address's. It is quite possible that when F2S emailed the news about the survey, they did not receive it.

One thing is for sure, Justin and the team should now concentrate on Tiscali User, they are losing valuable growth time. If it were me I would copy the database off here and throw it on there and then forward all requests from this domain to the new one. F2Support will not grow any more unless it evolves.

But that's just me.

Well we now have a link to Tiscali User at the top of the main f2support page, so it looks like things are starting to happen

Hi Steve

Why the sad face?

F2Support was unique and was why they had success with this site. Tiscali User is also unique at the moment, unless someone else beats F2S to it.

There is little to no traffic to this site, which is where F2S can capitalise by offering help and advice for all Tiscali ISP's, hence maintaining all the useful help and advice that has been documented here. Think of it like a family site, with all its siblings. There is a demand, just not being utilised.

But like I say, that's my opinion and would be what I would do.

Hi All,

We are comitted to ensuring we are here for the long term. We've been here for five and a half years during which we have not touched the formula of how the site is run at all - we haven't needed to, but as things changed, sometimes we need to change with them.

I'm sure it has not gone un-noticed that this place is pretty quiet nowdays, the survey only recieved 119 responses, which was the lowest ever in the history of Freedom2Support, we can go several days without posts, very few users online at one time and the traffic to the site has had a month by month decrease for the last few months now.

But it's not just us, the freedom2surf forum on ThinkBroadband has suffered the same fate, as have more general websites when it comes to discussion of freedom2surf based topics. There just isn't the demand for the site there used to be. Most of our users are semi-techy people in my experience, most of these decided to leave as soon as the Tiscali takeover went through. I'd estimate we've lost 70-75% of our regulars at least over the past few months.

There are a number of things being discussed at the moment in relation to where we are heading - nothing has been decided for sure. But if we are going to act and try and arrest the slide so to speak, we have to act before the site is completely dead and buried and we have hardly any users left. So we hope to make a decision pretty soon. As soon as we do you guys will be the first to know.

Without wishing to get all soppy, it's the end of an era. I don't think any Tiscali user site can have the same feel as freedom2support has (or at least used to have) because...well...it's Tiscali, you know what I mean? As Justin (I assume) said most of the f2support users and therefore a fair percentage of f2s users, are techy to a certain degree, and I think to most people including myself that was part of the appeal. That won't be the case with Tiscali, plus most of the users will be complaining about something so I would imagine it will be a pretty grim place

Wow that is a lot, I thought it was a fair amount but I didn't think it was that much. No wonder it's so quiet.

Changing that to a positive, TU could help so many more people

Just think of all the opportunities, people will look for help. The new community would benefit from all users help and input. Seriously the potential is huge.

As Justin says the TBB F2S forums are dead, where have they gone?

Other ISP's however Tiscali are a huge ISP and so think of it like an extra 2 million or so potential visitors to the new website. Just needs marketing and getting your head around the positives rather than the negatives.

Yep there are loads of knowledgeable people on F2S, so a huge step forward and a lot more help, and a busier forum.
