Heh, it works yes, but the DNS proxying seems to be effecting the speed pretty badly. Something which is being investigated.

Hello Justin.
I couldn't connect with freedom2support for a couple of days, & wondered what had gone wrong! I found this site gave me some information:- http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsre...2support.co.uk
Quite a useful site, IMHO.
This is for Freedom2Surf

Regards,
sqool.

Hi Sqool,

We've actually been using that site to make a few checks here and there, some of the errors that are listed are because we're still pointing at the old nameservers due to a technical issue so we're forwarding the requests. It's not brilliant, and it's not working 100% correctly hence why things are slow, but it is keeping us online and we will continue to do this until the new nameserver are live.

We are on top of the problems and are making good progress, but we did email all of our users about the problems, if you did not recieve a mail please make sure you keep the address in your forums profile current.

Cheers

Justin

We have identified a possible problem that could be effecting the speed caused by a faulty router inside Rackshack, we are currentley investigating it and hope to have it sorted soon.

Anyone having a slowdown anymore, I believe the problem with routing should now be fixed?

No slowdown Justin but you should probably know that I got a couple of Server Too Busy vbulletin errors just now! Never seen those before.
Nice feature that you can read the posts in 'tooltips' when the pointer is over the posts on the homepage i think, of course that would mean more data is processed ...
overall i hope it settles down for you and everyone soon!

Hi Naveen,

We're not sure why this happened, as the server hasn't been busy at all, I couldn't personally reproduce the problem, but I know a number of people were suffering from it and whilst they were I saw that the server load was at it's lowest point of the day, which is very strange. Needless to say however we're looking into it.

As for the tooltip post feature, I can't take credit for that, it came as standard with the script we're using for the Front Page and I didn't actually know this was a feature, but I'm glad to see someone found it useful even though

Things are starting to settle down now, and I think we'll have nearly everything resolved and back to some sort of normality tommorow, the only major issue remaining is the mailing list problem which we hope to get fixed later on tonight when we get someone to have a look at it.

Cheers
