Tiscali Saying I Can Only Get 4Mb And BT Say I Can Get 5.5Mb
Well my problem is that on tiscali when I check what my line can handle say i only can have 4mb service and that's what I get. But when I Check BT and every other provider, they all say i can have 5.5mb adsl max. So how can i get it to 5.5mb aswell as i am signed up to 8mb broadband. Any help please Would Appreciate.

Hi Taz,
Welcome to the forum. The checkers telling you that are based on educated guesses or information you have supplied so there is likely to be a difference. The actual performance is what is important and if you're getting 4mbit that's likely to be your limit but I'd suggest you post here your line statistics from your router/modem so we can see whether you're capped or whatnot. I'd need your sync details, Attenuation both downstream and upstream, and your Signal to Noise (SNR) margin again both up and downstream. This should help us move forward.

Based on your sync speed at 3840kbps with 10.5dB SNR means it could go quicker but you should really keep an eye on it checking it hourly for a few days to see if the SNR changes.

well is staying around 12db and 10db. since tiscali has just enabled llu down at exchange when i started thread could this affect the db rate?
