Web3 Linux Hosting Server Offline

Users on our forums have noticed one of the Linux hosting servers (web3.freedom2surf.net, 194.106.33.39) has been offline since the early hours of this morning. This server also had some issues yesterday with it be extremely slow to respond.

This server hosts both free username.f2s.com webspace and webspace purchased for domain names. Currently there is no mention of this problem on the Freedom2Surf System Status website.

Update 2:25pm: Freedom2Surf now have this issue listed on their System Status website: http://status.freedom2surf.net/Statu...=18&ID=402#736

Update 9:30pm: Freedom2Surf (Andy Ruddick) has now updated the status and announced that this won't be resolved until the early hours of Monday morning due to an unexpected hardware issue and they have also decided to move the server from Telehouse Datacentre to the HEX Datacentre where the other servers live. Update 12:23am 16/07/07: Freedom2Surf have announced that the server is now back up again, but they have had to restore from a backup of the content. This content is approx. 48 hours old, so any updates that have been done in the last 48hrs will have been lost. Also due to the move in datacentre they will have to do some more controlled maintance on the web platform at a later time. (http://www.freedom2support.net/forum...ead.php?t=8949)

Update 10:10am: Freedom2Surf have announce that work is still progressing on the restoration operation on the server, so sites will continue to become avalable again over the course of the morning. During this work FTP will be disabled. They are hoping that a further update is anticipated around 13:00 today. (http://www.freedom2support.net/forum...ead.php?t=8950)

Update 4:20pm: Freedom2Surf have now confirmed that the restoration has finished and FTP has been re-enabled, and they are investigating the cause for the problems.
