Same for me in Wales.....Have had to come into the office to find out what's up. I'm connecting but the connection won't go anywhere. I've rebooted the router umpteen times and the PC.

Go for compensation then.....wit thick persons idea was it to do th work on a tuesday not even toward the end of the week where it would probably cause less disruption no they decide the start of the week.
I am at work at moment so not sure if mine is okay although I aint turned off my router in x days. f2s I think you should sack who ever made the decisions and who ever managed to mess up yet another fix within the f2s crippling system.......I just dont think they know how to use anything but pipex equipment personally. |

Well, I'd rather it was down on a Tuesday than a Friday when people will probably want to use it more over the weekend, however, it should have been done at a better time, 6-8am isn't ideal.
Furthermore, this small number seems to be growing rapidly. - Unfortunately, I doubt we'll ever hear a few things, such as how many affected, what work was actually done, and finally, what went wrong.

I'm back up & running-morning wasted-oh well at least it was sunny! TBH when ever they decided to do the work was goinmg to cause disruption unless it was through the night-i guess they aren't making enough £££ to pay the overtime
(Or BT like to **** off home @ 5pm)

I still cannot fathom why they chose those times for the maintenance! A cycnic would say that it would possibly avoid having to pay too much overtime to their staff! Never thought I'd say it, but I think I'll be looking for a new ISP very shortly. |

I too believe they couldn't stomach paying engineers to work darkshift at the datacentre. At least this way, they get an instant notice of those affected as opposed to completing the work and then waiting on us getting up and reporting issues. Unless they don't need us to report issues? Do they know those affected?, Do they know why? - So many questions, no answers.

Greetings all.
Yup! I've had exactly the same problems (can only get the BT website, cannot use e-mail etc) My exchange is Cayton Bay (near Scarborough) North Yorkshire. It's now Tuesday afternoon and still no joy. Have sent a PM to Helen. Dr. Mac P.S. Obviously, I'm now using expensive and slow dial-up to do this posting! |

I myself have had trouble logging in.
Just as well i have lots of routers etc. As my linksys wag354g's will not allow me to connect after the planned work has been carried out. The belkin i am using now struggled as well, after 10 connection attempts, it got a connection, so straight away i plugged in linksys and same as before not good, red light. Plugged belkin back in and after 5 goes got connected. I am in Blyth Northumberland. All of the people i know in Blyth using f2s have not Internet either. What went wrong ? Helen if you don't mind, could you get someone to check on the 01670 exchange to see what's going on, thanks |

Hiya, I'm in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands and been unable to connect this afternoon until just now - after about 10 attempts! Any information on the cause would be appreciated.
Cheers Marty |

Blinking flip I'm using my pay as you go dialup again! From another ISP (always good to have a back up plan although I rather hoped I wouldn't need it!)
Getting a bit fed up with this. Good to know I'm not the only who is getting authentication failure

Five hours since I posted here this morning and still the problem does not seem to have been resolved. This is becoming a pathetic joke. I find it unbelievable that F2S could descend into such an unprofessional act.
Time to look elsewhere....

Thanks to this outage, I've lost my income for the day.
Got a good mind to claim compensation.

I had a connection at about 9.30 today that lasted for about 3 hours, but since 1.00pm nothing again. I tried leaving the router off as recommended but this made no difference. I am on Gw2 and also have sent a pm to Helen. Having only recently migrated to freedom by recommendation of a friend I wish I hadn't - I still am awaiting my £15.00 credit after several reminders being sent, I still have not got back the line speed I had originally and can't get any sensible replies from tec' help. |

f2s ADSL is not backed by any SLA so in reality, theres no real just claim for compensation. If you rely on the internet so much for business purposes, you should have a dedicated line which has an SLA associated with it. Of course, this will cost more than what we pay currently.
I do however, appreciate its frustrating, and it doesn't appear to be gateway discriminative, or location, as myself and a friend are on GW2 with no issues, yet wireman up there can't get onto his GW2 connection. Very weird, and little explanation as to whats going on. Personally, I'd say someones messed up Radius and as a result, you folks are being pushed onto the BTW network and shown that pretty page. Solution? Someone fixes it

I am sorry for the delay in updating you with this fault.
Engineers are investigating, we believe there is a routing issue somewhere and are talking to our suppliers - BT/Juniper/Imtech. I will provide more information as soon as I have it. Regards Helen |

Hmm.. interesting. I would have expected Geographical location issues to kick in if its to do with the BRAS' but I shan't speculate on how some of us can get on fine to the same GW as someone who can't ..
Anyhoo, I wasn't aware of f2s using Juniper kit, but am pleasantly reassured hearing that, and Imtech are well known too, so I'm glad there too. Hopefully, this will be the final glitch for a while Helen? - Or do we have more ideas? |
