Exclamation Web Space - MySQL - Server Migration

Update Published: Thu, 16 Nov 2006 17:22:53 GMT

Between the hours of 01:00 and 06:00 on Wednesday 22nd November we will be replacing the current MySQL server.

The replacement will provide new hardware with increased performance and reliability and will be located on a high speed MPLS link in our Harbour Exchange data centre. Additionally, the new server will provide a database upgrade from the current 3.23.58 to 5.0.26a

In order to transfer our customer's databases from the current server to the new, engineering will need to export the databases from the old server to the new. Prior to beginning the export process access to the MySQL server will be switched off to all customers.

Customer websites which use the Freedom2Surf MySQL database will be affected during this process.

No customer action is required unless you have received a communication from Freedom2Surf requesting you modify your databases to address incompatibilities between MySQL 3.23.58 and 5.0.26a.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this maintenance may cause.
