Be Unlimited

Investigating moving from F2S as Tiscali take over, I called Be to talk about their Unlimited package. On paper it sounds great - 24mb, unlimited transfers, no throttling. They assured me on the phone that 200gb a month usage wouldn't raise eyebrows and that they don't throttle P2P (not that I use it much).

But are they any good? I remember a couple of years ago they were dragged through the mud because of various problems. Anyone have any experience of them now?

I am quite put off by needing to give 3 months notice to leave. Not encountered that anywhere else before.

I'd go with them if I could.

There are some odd charges in place from them, for things like a static ip, webspace/email etc but i'd sooner they charged for them if they were good than provide services 'included' like f2s that don't work properly

be* have been pretty good to me in the 18 months I've been with them.

No throttling and genuinely unlimited. And freephone support open 24/7 is always there if you need them.

They have just launched a new service called be* Value which offers up to 8 Meg unlimited for £14/month on a 12 month contract. I'll be regrading from the £24/month package to this as soon as they allow this (should be next month) as I only get 6-7 MB speeds anyway.

Its a longer contract but up to now be* have shown themselves to be far less of a risk than some of the other ISP's.
