Are your children safe online?

Dear f2s Customer,

Do you feel confident that your children are protected from threats on the internet?

We are currently conducting some research to understand if parents are aware of these threats and really need your input.

Your opinion is extremely valuable to us and we would appreciate it if you could take a few moments to complete a short questionnaire.

Due to the delicate nature of this survey, please rest assured that individual responses will remain anonymous.

Complete survey online [http://links.f2s.com/links/107]

Kind Regards,

The f2s Team
Interesting ...

No doubt will lead to some software being offered to us.

The invitation to complete a survey doesn't mention anything about selling any software. Obviously the academic researchers that are in charge at f2s are simply surveying us as part of some sort of wider study. How community-spirited of them. Only a cynic would suggest they would try and hawk second-rate Net Nanny ripoffs to customers in the guise of a survey to protect children.

I mean, knowing f2s, would you trust your children's internet security with them?

What could be more secure than an ISP whose services don't work?

Do I detect total disbelief and sarcasm, as well as nothing postive about this quality ISP called F2S?

At least I can read the survey etc, however I am on my Sky connection and not the F2S one. Something is wrong seriously wrong.

How fast is your current internet connection?

Freedom 2 Surf are without doubt the worst ISP I have ever had the pleasure of paying, for an internet connection.

I'm sure you're having a sly pop at those money grabbers Least I hope you are

15. Do you believe that the threat of cyberbullying and internet paedophiles is high enough for you to investigate and/or invest in software or services provided by your internet service provider (ISP) that could alert you to the possibility that it may be occuring?

16. What is the maximum you would be prepared to pay for a service that could make the internet safer for children and alert you to potential cyberbullying and/or paedophile grooming targetting your children?

At least the f2s staffers that occasionally pop by these forums have had the decency not to try and defend this appalling campaign. As a parent of three children, to have some second-rate marketing wannabe pose questions like no. 16 is frankly astonishing. How did they come up with this "survey" and why did their internal management systems fail to catch it? Do they have any form of survey control? - because this is not only offensive, it skirts very close to infringing the spirit of the Data Protection and advertising legislation.

To juxtapose the issue of pedophilia with some technical "solution" and to invite parents to place a monetary value on their child's safety - what were they thinking?

Agree with Argos_bling - this is just a tacky sales pitch dressed up with some rather sickening phoney scaremongering.

I'm surprised this isn't accompanied by a youtube video of The Hoff driving around in his Pipex-sponsored Paedo-Patrol Car.

No software/service in the world can protect children 100% as the bad guys will always find a way round any restrictions. If your kid is chatting to little Billy online how on earth can Pipex verfiy this?

Well the Pipex internal management systems have authorised (both f2s and Nildram) staff to lie about SKY broadband in the past to stop customers leaving, so perhaps something like this isn't that unexpected.....

That's why, as a parent, you have to take responsibility and have sensible precautions in place.
