Wireless signal - big drop?
I use a Linksys WAG354G V.2 router and have a Linksys WPC54G v7.1 card in my laptop.
I used to have a strong signal, around 80%+ on the laptop but recently the signal strength seems to have dropped by a lot and can barely reach 20%, the only thing that has changed recently is I updated the firmware in my router to the latest version, could this have caused this wireless signal problem and reverting back to previous firmware version may fix it? also, how would I go about reverting back to a previous firmware on the router? it appears you cannot retrieve it from the Linksys website (only latest available to download), would doing a factory reset cause the firmware to be reset also? hope someone can lend a helping hand... |

Factory reset usually restores to the 'shipped' state

I did a factory reset, it doesn't change the firmware.
I think the wireless signal problems are just down to the walls in my house. I think I need to buy the aerial to fit to my router to boost the signal some more. |
