I was wondering what the average person uses the internet for the most.
Sometimes I get the feeling I'm addicted to the internet, but then I just realize I'm on so much because I'm lazy. I mainly use it for communication and contacts. As an underground hip hop fan, none of the music I like get's played on the radio and most of the CD's that get released don't get released in stores within the UK. The internet keeps me up to date and informed and I can order my CD's from Amazon. What about the rest of you?

I generally use it a lot for news (both the sort of stuff they have on TV and also news related to computers etc). As am I doing a degree in Computer Science I tend to spend a lot of time programming and generally messing around with my computers so a lot of the surfing and downloads are related to that, not to mention logging into the Uni's intranet and checking email etc.
I also use it a lot for music as the sort of music I particuarly enjoy doesn't get much exposure (trip-hop sort of stuff - think massive attack, sneaker pimps etc) so its great to find new material and groups etc www.epitonic.com rules :-) Unfortunatly because this type of music is pretty ecentric there are next to no downloads for it on the p2p things so I dont use them much - I prefer to have the cds anyway! Oh yeah, spending an increasingly large amount of time playing silly online games and talking rubbish on irc :-) |

Oh, you know, the usual, pr0n, warez, that kind of thing (only kidding
)That's quite a tricky one to answer, really. I reckon I mostly use it for movie and music news, and to find out about new artists and films. Used it for most of my research when I was at uni, but now I know everything so don't do that so much anymore I also do an unhealthy amount of my shopping through online stores.
