New Forum Name - No Freedom From Tiscali?

Given that the Freedom 2 Surf branding will only be licenced for a maximum of 2 years after being sold to Tiscali I have a suggestion that we change the forum name to No Freedom From Tiscali. I have come up with this name due to the fact that they make it practically impossible to leave their crappy service!

Whats more forum members will need much more support, professional counciling as well as anti depressants!

I've moved this from Broadband to General Chit-Chat as it isn't really a serious thread about broadband issues, and seems more like chit chat.

Can I ask where you got the bit about Tiscali only being able to use the F2S brand for 2 years? There is no reason for them to licence the F2S name because they own F2S, and there is no reason for the Pipex Group to keep hold of the name. The only thing I've seen about a 2 year licence is this:

The Disposal will result in Pipex ceasing to have ownership of the "Pipex" name and certain other trademarks. At completion, a limited licence will be granted by the Buyer to the Group allowing it to use those trademarks and associated domain names for specified periods of up to two years from completion.

That means the Pipex Group will licence the "Pipex" brand name for up to 2 years from Tiscali, then they'll need a new name (if I'm reading it right).

My 2 year brand name comment was based on the above link. Maybe ive misunderstood it

Anyway on a more serious note I would expect given how Tiscali has swallowed up other ISPs I would anticipate that the Freedom 2 Surf branding will disappear sooner rather than later. In which case would the Forum be re-named?

Yes I wouldn't be surprised if they did drop the F2S name eventually. If that does happen we'll probably rename the site, although nothing is certain as we don't really know what Tiscali's plans are (and that's annoying as it makes it difficult for us to plan if we don't know what will happen).
