I received a rather terse PM yesterday, which may have been sent in jest but it certainly didn't appear, from my perception at least, to have been in a jocular vein (from someone who shall remain nameless but you know who you are). He asked me very bluntly, "Has he offered you free bb?", by which, of course, he meant James, the MD of ADSL24 and I understood him to be referring to the fact that I, so far at least, have had nothing but praise for every aspect of ADSL24 that I have investigated thoroughly, and also my migration process to date, which I have reported on the Forum as such, albeit with some mild ribbing evident on occasions.
To set the record straight and just to make things absolutely crystal clear to anyone concerned, I would like to point out the following so that there can be no possible misinterpretation of the facts, and to avoid any possible conjecture, either now or in the future: 1: I have neither received, nor indeed have I been offered any incentives whatsoever for 'spreading the word' about ADSL24 from either James or, for that matter, any other member of ADSL24. My views, which I have factually reported, are based solely on my own findings and have not been influenced, in the slightest, by anyone. Had I been offered any incentives though, that would have been purely my business alone and absolutely nothing to do with anyone else, regardless. 2; I do not know James or indeed any other staff member of ADSL24 on either a personal or professional level. 3: My only dealings with ADSL24 have been since I applied to migrate to them and then only on a purely business level as a new customer. 4: It would appear that certain people on this Forum have, apparently, lost their sense of humour and have started taking life far to seriously recently. As anyone who knows me would realise, (and I've been on this Forum for long enough now), the vast majority of my comments are said purely 'tongue in cheek' unless, of course, there is a serious issue involved. 5: I hope that this fully explains my position regarding ADSL24 fully and that it will go some way towards avoiding any possible misinterpretation of my motives towards reporting on this Forum in the future, should I decide to stick around further after my migration, that is. I can assure your correspondent that James is not the sort of person to offer incentives to publicise his service. I've tried to bargain my body to receive free internet from him, and he turned me down flat. Weird... |

This will have to be investigated if Ifind it may be going on, as it's not in the interests of the forum members if it is indeed happening.

You have my sympathy and support Frank. Some folk (who shall remain nameless) just can't see the tongue in your cheek. Must be too busy holding their ..... in their hand. Mind you, you CAN lay it on a bit heavy

I don't mind making it public, I sent the PM and it was in complete jest Frank. - I've since clarified this in a pm to yourself and perhaps it will make it more clear what I was talking about.

So, according to you, I have only "put it in the public there for no reason other to get my back up." have I? It was nothing of the sort and I had kept it anonymous too. Regarding another of your comments, I did PM you back questioningly and you had ample time to qualify your question but, for the second time in a couple of days, I got no reply back from you. I have heard a few of the snide and unwarranted comments that have been flying around and I posted simply to put the record straight publicly. Judging by what else you said, it is you Chaz, not I that has had a hidden agenda, regardless of how you try to justify it to me. |

Interesting, but I feel unnecessary to have been made public on the forum. The question was private so in my opinion the response should have been private. It was a passing question and not an accusation made in front of everyone.
Any regular users of this forum know what you are like Frank and I can't think why you would be offered free bb anyway maybe just to stop you complaining about the tiniest thing but I don't think free bb will stop you reporting the faults of an ISP to other users!ADSL24 has been talked about and recommended by other ex F2S customers in the past who use this forum and there have been other F2S customers who have moved to ADSL24 and their forum before Frank so I don't think Mr Meldrew would be in the position to receive any freebies. |

Er, whoa, hang on a minute Frank why the hostility?
I'm sorry I didn't respond to your pm, it must have slipped my mind. If I had a hidden agenda, would I have continued my service with f2s?

Not like you to 'forget' to reply to 2 PMs in a row Chaz. ![]() Do you really want me to answer that last question honestly and publicly in view of what you wrote in your last PM?

Frank,
Since taking on a position here at f2support my pm limit has been increased to 1000 so I have lots more space to lose them in. - It wasn't intentional, honest. I appreciate wanting to set the record straight, but my pm was truly in jest, I would not want to harm your public reputation nor would I imagine you want to hurt mine. - The pm was tongue in cheek and was further explained in a follow up this morning. I don't really understand your last sentence but I think that since I have paid through the nose for every single month I've been with f2s, I am not receiving incentives from them nor for the record anyone else. - Bethere, however, if you wish to unbundle my exchange, I will accept your offer ![]() I have turned down other providers on free connections because I felt it would allow them to censor me which as we all know is a difficult task. Think we've both said our piece, is it time to just move on and see whats happening?

Sadly, this is my last day with F2S after over 4 years with them as my activation with ADSL24 is imminent sometime today.
Perhaps even more sad is the fact that this will most probably be my last post on this Forum. I've struggled with my conscience and I've now decided, regrettably, that it would go against my better principles to continue posting on here in view of recent events, as illustrated on this thread. With reason, I no longer believe that what I was told as supposed 'reality' was in actual fact true. I do not wish to elaborate on this any further in public, not least to preserve the dignity of this Forum. I would, however, be more than happy to discuss the situation in private with Justin, if he so wishes, by phone. I will send my phone number on request, Justin. Very sadly, I'll really miss all my good friends on here (or should I say the ones that are still left on here?), but, if you are so inclined, please feel free to pop over to the 'other side' occasionally, if only to say hello! I wish everyone good luck for the future regardless, whatever it may hold for you. To Justin and the Staff on here, I sincerely wish you the best of luck for the future and I'd also like to say thank you for everything that you have done and all the hard work that you have put in to maintain and improve this excellent Forum since I joined it in 2004. Long may you thrive! Bye everyone, I'm out of here!
