ha..hanging will be an easier way out
called the police around 4.30, they finally came in around 8.30..such a swift service. yep, i've got insurance, just concerned this insurance company might come with their own excuse for not wanting to pay up. i dont see myself staying anyway, but that means i will have to pay another activation fee where next i move to..my luck

Seriously tho', don't forget to check if he took any keys, and change the locks if you think he did. This will sometimes be paid for by your insurance company. Good Luck, I hope you come out in front!

Burglers are the scum of the earth.
Please don't let them drive you out of your home or they'll have "won".

That's a real bummer. I remember getting burgled when I was 15. Lived with my mum and brother (parents were separated at the time). They took absolutely everything they could carry - clothes, small items, food. I only had the jeans I was wearing left.
It felt like being raped (which I never want to experience thank you). The place felt dirty. Someone else had taken our privacy. A part of our lives. Horrible feeling. You have to do what you think will give you the best peace of mind. Another activation fee is what it would cost you. Small price I say.

My grandparents were burgled and they forgot to take all the importaint things like the £2K camera, TV, Diamond Rings etc... They took the broken Camcorder and a stack of Video tapes which had all the footage of me as a little baby
and the other tapes were just TV recordings. (BTW it was the late 80's this break in so not lots of DVD players, PC's etc...) But it is so upsettings what ever is taken.

Thanks guys..its the violation of privacy that really hurts. I've decided to stay, and the house do need some touch up, so I guess they've given a reason to do that.

I'd improve my security if I were staying. How did they get in?

If you are intent on staying, why not invite the local crime prevention officer round for a cuppa? Let them give the place the once over.
