Can anyone recommend another ISP currently on the unlimited package but the maximum I download is say 50gb a month and rarely at that.

Freedom2surf
Youtube does not stream
Downloads rarely about 5kb (newsgroups) during normal hours ie 9am to 11pm
BBCI player does not work
The connection is fine after 1am useless to me as I don’t sit on the internet at this time download speeds increase to 700kbs.

Can anyone recommend another ISP I realise that it wouldn’t be hard to beat the above specs and that most dialup providers would give it a run for its money.

I can reccomend ADSL24

ISP here is fine.

I have heard of traffic shaping but banning newsgroups at peak time like just now is out of order 0kbs. Yet when i use sky broadband at the girlfriends on the same account i get 700k.

If you can Be* go for that in my opinion, failing that ADSL24.

02 or Be Broadband. Much, much, much cheaper than ADSL24.

Still, only if you can get it at your exchange as it's normal for LLU players to be cheaper.

Before i moved i would want to check out that its an F2S problem and not one that's going to follow me to another ISP.
BBC iplayer not working and You Tube not streaming seem an odd problem .
Newsgroups throttled their is industry talk of newsgroup users and peer to peer connections being fair game as 99% of their use is illegal downloads .Though if that did happen the Warez industry will just move to a different format for file transfer .

Pretty sure your problems are due to F2S.

With F2S, I also had trouble streaming video and file sharing (F2S throttle P2P traffic). Not to mention browsing and instant messaging woes in the evenings. But their speeds were generally awful and inconsistent.

So far with 02, I've had maximum speeds along with consistency. 02 don't throttle. Everything's fine.
