Anybody else got any connection problems ... I've got sync and can even connect and ping the other end of the link but no name resolution works and the dns servers aren't responding to pings.
Nick is saying there are no problems but traceroutes from work to home are getting in an endless loop with high packet loss at a couple of f2s routers. Also pings and traceroutes to the home gateways are failing. ThePHM |

I haven't even got sync. Oh well its pretty annoying
Sounds like a DNS problem - remember ebone etc died recently and people are saying UUNet is closing so there are likely some issues whilsts routig etc settles down.

Well I was speaking to Nick on the phone and my link came back up, so the problem (at least for me) appears to be resolved.

Hmm well at least I can use uk2.net's dialup I suppose....costing a small fotune though
![]() Anyway, got another call from F2S today, they are sending people down to the exchange today :-) This is the first real time I've needed to use the support - I have to say they are very courteous and profesional. They also dont insult your intelligence and say things like "are you sure your computer is plugged in" etc.... |

I had a similar problem, only since THursday for me. It came back alive about half an hour ago though.
I'd call F2S Monday morning - it sounds like an exchange problem so they will need to get an engineer down there. |

It has to be said that there are somethings that they have got soooo wrong in the last couple of months over the capacity problems but I've found that most are sorted quite quickly and courteously. ThePHM |
