Netgear Dg814 Router.

Does anyone use this router and experiments disconnection problems?
Is there any one who's got the right setup for this bloody router?

Hi,...get readdy!!

the only disconnects Ive had it transpires, seemed more to do with F2s.
Apart form that the only issues I have had is restarting my machine after which I have probs connecting to the internet. not happened for a while though, I usaully leave the box(dg814) switched on if the machine is off!

I must point out though, if youre gonna restart the gateway(DG814) wait 15 secs then turn back on. It usually takes several minutes (dont know why) to re-establish itself.

(by which time if your like me youve reset your net connections, checked youre cables, turned the dg814 on and off a few more times, then restarted.)

But apart form that not a whimper, works fine with all firewall software.

*option:
1. when in youre OS, turn off DG814 (make sure the internet light is off - you should see port 1 lit and power light.

2. open youre browser, go to youre router 192.*.*.* - it should open to sys status, obviously nothing there?

3. click ppaostatus - you see nothing "connecting to server" failed"

4. click connect sit back and wait(look at your DG814 - the internet led starts to flash (sometimes)

5. If all else fails - sit back and wait....


*last option if above fails -try resetting(long winded process - in the user manual on CD) your dg814 gateway -you may need the help of a friend (im not joking).
