Speed Issue, BT Outage - Bristol Node?

Hi all,

I've been with f2s for about a year now - ex e7even and ezeedsl etc...

I was wondering if anyone else with a 01902 code is experiencing speed issues? I've recently logged onto f2s and have noticed a BT outage involving the Bristol Node, which has been ongoing since 30/08/2009! There seems to be quite a few areas affected, but I can't find anything on the net regarding it...

The results of a recent speed check were as follows :-

'The speed test has completed on test server speedtester1.speedtester.bt.com for user 01902****** and you have downloaded a 1.7Mb file at a speed of
830kilo bits per second (Kbps), your service bandwidth will have been quoted to you in kilo bits per second.
Your IP address is *.*.*.*, your browser is reported as being Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 and is running on Windows NT 6.0. '

I was getting almost 5Mbps down last year...

I can't believe it's been nearly 5 months, with no further info and it still hasn't been resolved - Any ideas? Or anyone with the same / similar issue?

Hi Rich,

The information in the members area comes directly from BT systems and I am afraid that BT doesnt allways send the clear.

Anyway, there are no issues in that area that I am aware off but if you PM me your ADSL number I will have a look for you....

I have two outages posted for that date, 2009-08-30, both with a huge number of dialling codes (one of these is the Bristol node which includes 01902 in the list).

So there will be many users with one or both of these outages flagged, and not marked as cleared. They need to be cleared manually by F2S, since BT has failed to do so.

My area code is 01635.

Update - All sorted now!

Many thanks to Antonio, who checked my line / connection out and ended up rebuilding my profile!

I can now get around 3-4Mbps, which is more or less what I was getting last year. Not too sure what happened, but one thing is for sure, this forum has been a Godsend!
