Re: No gaming in evenings
I was able to use Steam fine this morning, but not WoW. After a powercut (for ~5mins) I wasn't able to use either. A reboot of the router solved the problem and I was able to use both steam and WoW. It is probably worth mentioning in the past a reboot of the router has not helped, but only after one try.
Also I have noticed that a lot people with the NETGEAR DG834 series of routers seem to be having problems. I often cannot access games between 11am and 10pm. @Antonio - are you still monitoring this thread and working on the issue? Or has it been pushed to the bottom of the pile? |

Re: No gaming in evenings
I am totally mad now ! I cannot play xbox live on an evening, it just keeps disconnecting me all the time. Then I cannot reconnect for hours (my internet works fine during this time)
I then have to spend ages messing about trying to connect, sometimes it says i have a connection, but still can't play any MW2 games. This problem has only just started happening over the past few weeks, I have spoken to F2s & have been told its the Cisco hardware that is causing the problem. 7 years I have been a customer but if this continues to drive me mad for the next 7 days then I am leaving, so will all my friends who are customers with the same problem. Why do they not just go back to the old hardware, because the new stuff is junk. |

Re: No gaming in evenings
After pushing our hardware supplier I got an update from them.
They believe that they have identified a possible issue in their firmware that could cause problems processing some Xbox live data. They stated that their next firmware update should fix this issue. Unfortunately, they didn’t provide the release date for this update. As soon as we receive the new firmware we will apply it and retest. |

I have already tested in a few F2S connections with different platforms and I have been unable to replicate this issue. As I said on a previous post I am not saying that you are not experiencing this issue, I only saying that so far I have been unable to replicate it. |

Re: No gaming in evenings
Thanks, as always, for the update Antonio - perhaps some good news, we will have to wait and see.
Have to say, all went well over the Christmas/New Year holiday but there have been a couple of repetitions of the 'XBox disconnect but internet still connected' bug in the last 10 days or so. Can't think of any reason for the reduction in frequency - obviously less people online at peak periods over the holiday - but expected the drop-outs to resume early January. They have - but less frequent. Seems to affect only a few people - but irritating nonetheless. Good to have someone take up the problem and run with it rather than fobbing us off. Well done and thank you.

Re: No gaming in evenings
Thanks for the update Antonio.
The only thing I'm wondering is it to do with what 'package' people are on? I'm on the ADSL Max package (and migrated to it from the standard 8MB connection about 3years ago). Is it down to the package that people are on (i.e. one 'package' is affecting people, and people no on the ADSL package are not affected). I hope that makes sense ![]() Hopefully your hardware supplier releases the patch asap as I'd say this is a pretty big issue. For some people at least! |

Re: No gaming in evenings
Unfortunately this is now becoming a real issue in our household. Arguements of World Ware III proportions with my 15 year old son who is frustrated that 'none of my friends get disconnected' only us 'idiots with the crap connection'.
Things improved greatly over Christmas but have gone downhill again steadily ever since. Disconnections from XBox Live now occuring virtually every night around 1900 hours whilst internet connection remains very good - rock solid in my case. I will give it until the end of the month and if there is no improvement will move ISP. Reluctant to do so but I'm not taking the hassle anymore. Appreciate Antonio's efforts - both now and in the past - but sounds as if he's at the mercy of others on this one.

Re: No gaming in evenings
Just a quick message to let you all know that i had this issue with no solution being found,
but last week i regraded from 8mb to 24mb connection and i have so far not been disconnected from either xBox live or Games for Windows at anytime. No hardware in the home has changed so the problem wasn't local. hope this helps someone. Beanie |

Re: No gaming in evenings
I've been able to get on xbox live the last 2 nights between 7:30 - 9:30 without problem. This coincided with fitting a BT i-plate on my phone socket, but that might just be a coincidence. I will try it at various times over the next few nights to see what happens.
