Question Problems emailing to wilko.co.uk

Hiya,
One of my customers is having problems sending email via outmail.f2s.com. An email was sent on Friday 27th March at 09.32. The sender received a bounce back on Monday 30th March 10:35 (three days and three minutes after the message was sent bearing in mind clocks going forward that Sunday) saying :-

Quote:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: 0016114
Sent: 27/03/2009 09:32

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

bookings.dc1@wilko.co.uk on 30/03/2009 10:31
The e-mail system was unable to deliver the message, but did not report a specific reason. Check the address and try again. If it still fails, contact your system administrator.
< mk-outboundfilter-3.mail.uk.tiscali.com #5.0.0 smtp; 5.4.7 - Delivery expired (message too old) [Default] 451-'4.7.0 SPF tempfail: Too many retries' (delivery attempts: 76)>
The SPF tag for ancol.co.uk is
Quote:
v=spf1 mx a:theoffice.ancol.co.uk autmail.f2s.com ptr:livemail.co.uk ptr:mail.uk.tiscali.com -all
I'm confident the SPF tag is correct because :-
1) I used the Test an SPF record section of the page SPF Query Tool
2) I've sent myself an email from ancol.co.uk. My email is protected by Amavisd-new which does SPF checks and it inserted the following header in the test email I received.

Quote:
X-Spam-Status: No, score=-2.599 tagged_above=-999.99 required=4
tests=[BAYES_00=-0.5, HTML_MESSAGE=0.001, SPF_HELO_PASS=-1, SPF_PASS=-1]
...which confirms that its passing SPF checks.

I've contacted an admin wilko.co.uk who has looked into it for me but was unable to track down a problem there end. They said they require further information the logs of the mail server who is trying to send the messages to their mail servers.

I'm hoping someone at F2s could provide me with this information?

I've also just sent a test message (Subject is "Testing message Sent Friday 3rd April 2009") to bookings.dc1@wilko.co.uk which I suspect will be in a mail queue at F2s for the next three days. This will hopefully allow F2s to check live whats going wrong.

Fingers crossed

Scotter

Hi Scotter, I am checking this for you as soon as I have all the info that you need I'll email the logs to you.

The bounced back message is giving a couple of clues of what the issue is and I'll email my advise to you with the logs

Re: Problems emailing to wilko.co.uk

My "solution" was to add an additional SMTP connector to the exchange server for this destination domain and others that were giving me problems and set them to route by DNS and not use a smarthost. Also needed to give the SMTP connector a lower cost than the original SMTP connector so it got used first.
