Email Not Working Again

Is it just me or is it a more general problem this morning?

You just beat me to it. I don't know about local client access, but webmail is not accessible.

There is maintenance sheduled for today, but that's not supposed to start until 2200

I haven't been able to send for a few days, and now today nothing coming in either!

fast becoming a joke. maybe we should open a book on when its actually going to work.

The status page has been showing amber status for months - whats the point of having it if it never gets updated?

This is getting beyond a joke. I don't ever remember problems before Tiscali took over and I've been with F2S since 2004, when support was only a phone call away and the customers were cared about! Who said bigger is better?

E-mail was arriving late yesterday. No e-mail client or webmail access this morning.

And what about all that spam that's been arriving using personal account e-mail addresses? That only seemed to have kicked in with the recovery from the last outage.

Here's hoping this will be sorted during this planned maintenance, which looks like it's now up for an earlier than planned start.

Which does mean they know about the problem and might even update the Service Status page sometime.

The problem is it keeps on happening, I see nothing going on that says "hey, look we've had problems but we are going to do xyz to resolve them" All we get told is there is maintenance scheduled, which frankly makes no difference to the end user.

I cannot sign into my webmail, as it is telling me I am using either the wrong email or wrong password [which I am not].

So, once again we have a problem, and nothing is flagged up on the homepage either.

These days the consumer does not matter, that's obvious.

I have a few emails through now BUT I know for a fact that there are several missing!! Strange that the ones that did make it are spam!!

Email starting working last evening but now down again. Can't even get onto webmail.

Hmmm. I am getting the message:

The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail server inmail.f2s.com responded [SYS/PERM] could not read message file.

Still no proper email access for me some 36 hours after this whole farce began.

Although I can now drag down incoming mail, the server is not deleting the mails once this has taken place, so I have an email client full of literally hundreds of copies of the same few mails.

It also seems likely that I don't have access to all of my mails, as I'm missing ones from some eBay activity that I had today and these are just the ones that I know about.

The last update from F2S on the status of the roleout of the new mail platform is from over 4 1/2 hours ago which seems a little pathetic given that this is a major problem that has affected all user.
