Webmail deleted once downloaded with OE

Hi all.

I don't know if this is an isolated problem, but since the last outage, I can no longer view any emails on Webmail once downloaded and viewed in Outlook Express.

Before, I was able to view old emails on F2s webmail even if I downloaded them to Outlook Express.

I have also been using Spamjab as well, but cancelled it the same day as I was having problems with it blocking legit emails.

Any help appreciated.

Re: Webmail deleted once downloaded with OE

It's traditional behaviour what you're experiencing in that once you've downloaded the mail via POP on the Mail Client that it "removes" the mail from the server to prevent is "filling up".

In Outlook Express under your account settings you will be able to tell it to "leave mail on the server" for x days which will restore the kind of behaviour you're requesting.

Be aware though, that this isn't f2s' fault; it's normal behaviour.

Re: Webmail deleted once downloaded with OE

Thanks, but that option to leave on server for 5 days (in my case) is and always has been enabled in accounts properties. Nothing has changed, so I am at a loss

Re: Webmail deleted once downloaded with OE

I'd suppose this spamjab system connects to f2s and downloads the mail to 'cleanse'/check etc before you do, maybe there's still a remnant on there doing that?

Alternatively, turn the 5 days thing off completely, do a full send/receive (letting it download/clean the server) close OE send a mail from somewhere else to f2s and then reopen it send/receive and see whether it's still there in webmail.

Re: Webmail deleted once downloaded with OE

Thanks Chaz.

I have checked Spamjab and it seems that it is still intercepting my emails even though I advised them to disconnect the service.

I will have to see if I can contact them and see why this is so. I will keep you posted.

Re: Webmail deleted once downloaded with OE

Hi all. It seems it was Spamjab causing the problem. Now that I have contacted and alerted them of the problem, they have fixed the situation

Again, thanks Chaz for your help.
