Re: Suggestions
Depends what you are looking for really, I use a combination of hosting from UnitedHosting for my email and webspace and gmail, Unitedhosting is overkill unless you are big into your webspace though.

Re: Suggestions
Given he didn't ask for webspace, I'd be looking at Gmail to be honest, plus, it's free.
You buy the domain (oneandone is fine for .uk, or use namecheap.com for .net/.com) point the MX to gmail and off you toddle, can all be done and dusted within an hour normally. (My experience of 3 domains .net's via namecheap was within an hour anyway).

Re: Suggestions
Thanks,
No I dont want webspace, I already have my own domain with email services which F2S host for me, but I am just fed up with the reliability of the service, the ADSL bit from F2S seems OK at the moment Thanks |

Re: Suggestions
If you already own the domain you just want to transfer it somewhere like zoneedit.com (free) and then set up the goodness there. - Notta lot of experience with zoneedit myself but it should be fine.

Re: Suggestions
Well ... I suppose you could consider something like oneandone.co.uk, unitedhosting, or csnewmedia or something if you want to for your domain DNS hosting/email hosting.
Or, you could transfer your domain to someone like namecheap/zoneedit to make it entirely free from f2s and then point the mail aspect of it to either one of the above, or google which to be honest, has been flawless for me. And google support pop no problem as long as its secured.

Re: Suggestions
It expects you to use POP3S which means it is operating over SSL or TLS, I can't remember which for Google but if you use a "normal" mail client such as Thunderbird, or Outlook it will be fine.
Alternatively, their webmail interface is improving.

Re: Suggestions
I hate new the new gmail interface personally since they added the skins. Doesn't suit it at all. It's like we're going round in circles.
Back at the start of webmail when hotmail started the most important thing was ease of use and clean interface. Then things got more complicated, and got feature driven and bloated and slow like Hotmail. MS then brought in the new version of Hotmail which was full of features and much better but less leaner then Gmail came out and people said the advantages were it was quick and clean. Now we have the new Hotmail which is trying to look much simpler and cut down on features such as skins etc to go to the gmail look. Yet now gmail seems to be trying to abandon the simple and clean look and try and make itself more flashy. It seems like we're going round and round in a circle to me.

Re: Suggestions
You can use the classic skin in gmail, so it looks the same as before they introduced skins.

Re: Suggestions
It still looks different though to me. The only way I can get it looking nice is to flick to "Old Version" but every time I log in I need to do that.
