No email
Hello,
I don't seem to be able to pick up my email at the moment. I am using Thunderbird under Windows XP. It was working at the weekend, but now seems to have stopped. I get the following message : "An Error occurred with the POP3 mail server. Mail server inmail.f2s.com responded:" but there is no response ! As far as I'm aware I haven't changed any settings and I can still access my webmail. Any ideas ? John |

Re: No email
There is an "ongoing situation" with the POP servers. Goodness knows why it is taking so long to get them back up again and as usual there has been little communication from them.
Actually, I lie because they seem to have copied a support answer to all on the support page at support.freedom2surf.net :- We are currently experiencing an outage with our email platform. Customers attempting to get their email will get an error rejecting the username and password when logging in. logging into webmail will be successful however email stored in the mailbox and new messages sent to the mailbox will be unavailable. Engineers are investigating to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. The Service Status has finally been updated too. Some indication of when it would be resolved would be useful "End date: rolling" is not what I call helpful. |

Re: No email
High time to start using a new email address - put it simply I wouldn't trust F2S with my email.

Re: No email
I have to agree with that. Thankfully i have never relied entirely on F2S email (f2s.com or hosted domain addresses). It might be useful for some people to know that email forwarding usually works even when webmail and/or POP is down. For quite some time now my two most important addresses (hosted domain addresses) have been forwarding to corresponding google addresses. This has been useful on many an occasion when there's been outages with F2S email. Worth considering as an alternative to switching some or all services to another provider.

Re: No email
I relied on f2s hosted f2s.com email as my main email address for many years. Right up until Pipex changed the platform then I started to slowly stop using it.
