Can anyone else confirm that they are having problems receivign email today? I have two mailboxes on inmail-f2s-com. One works and one doesn't. Must be just a certain mail server is down..?

Here's the error I get:

+OK POP3 Ready imap1.freedom2surf.net 0001d2ed <29927.1227691171@imap1.freedom2s
urf.net>
user xxxxxx-f2s-com
+OK USER xxxxxx-f2s-com set, mate
pass xxxxxx
-ERR [SYS/PERM] Unable to open maildrop: System I/O error

Just about to log it with F2S/Tiscali/whoever.
This is getting tedious isn't it!

Have any users got problems with Outlook requesting password for Inbox operations? It went down at 3:30 this morning.

I haven't bothered to look at service status as I'm sure it will reveal nothing, just like last time!!! Everything fine, I only lost 10 emails!!!

Yep - I have one out of four boxes down and requesting a password.

It just goes on getting better doesn't it.

One out of my two mailboxes is not working. Error returned by their POP/IMAP server is :
-ERR [SYS/PERM] Unable to open maildrop: System I/O error

One of their mailbox servers is down I reckon.
Have just logged it , so expect to see the service status change soon , as they react rather than proact. What a s**tty service this has become.
As soon as timing is more convenient for me I will be off to another ISP.

I've merged the two threads about this issue into one. The service status page on the Freedom2Surf website doesn't currently mention the problem:

Maybe they'll put something up eventually...

Well two more of my boxes have gone down now - so I have one out of four working. Oh joy

Status page still suggests that everything is fine

They've now acknowledged the problem , but only on the 'Log an issue' page : Find Answers (Page 1 of 14)

Maybe if they don't put it on the service status page then it doesn't affect their targets/ they don't get their butts kicked so hard!

Will contact them again asking that they update Servcie Status .

They've got that wrong because I can get to neither POP3 or Webmail.

"Welcome to freedom2surf webmail. Login failed for some reason. Most likely your username or password was entered incorrectly."

"Sending the password did not succeed. Mail server inmail.f2s.com responded: Could not connect to server"

..... it's probably tired like the rest of us ... !!

Well was out at a meeting all afternoon and returned to find all four e-mail boxes are now caput. At least their service page acknowledges the situation. I am able to log on to webmail at least. Wonder how long this little episode is going to last.

7pm, still no email available either through Outlook or webmail.
Outage page hasn't been updated for nearly 6 hours and still states that Webmail is working - utter garbage.

Hey everyone, print your emails out and put a first class stamp on them - they will get there quicker than F2S email will

may well be back but certainly not delivering email in any quantity. Guess we can look forward to receiving the backed up mail over the next week or so ...

Two and a half days on, and I still have no webmail and no email in my Outlook POP.

I MUST have reliable email, so I think after all that has gone before, it's time I asked them for my Mac code.

This is so ridiculous. BT may well be my next port of call.

If you MUST have reliable email do not rely upon your ADSL ISP to provide it.

Buy a domain (£10 for 2 yrs on a .co.uk), host it with someone like Google (free) and enjoy the stability someone who specialises in the provision of mail can give you.

BT are fine, but wait until they wind you up with something like a price rise etc and you're once again, in this same boat whereby mail is the defining factor.

F2S Email hasn't been reliable since the original platform was dismantled in early 2006. I advise everyone to stop using an f2s email address ASAP.
