I'm trying to connect to my F2S POP3 mailbox from my mobile on an O2 GPRS connection. This doesn't seem to get anywhere, it just fails to connect to the server. Is there anyone else out there connecting directly to an F2S POP3 account via GPRS? Should I be able to do it at all? The phones data connection is working OK, I can access WAP pages via GPRS, and I can send mail via the O2 SMTP server, but the one thing I really want to be able to do is access my F2S mail.

I have a couple of work-arounds, in that I can access the POP3 server via the Excell WAP/email gateway, but that has a bit of a limited interface, and is pretty slow, even via GPRS, or I can always use my trusty Psion and use plain old GSM dial-up, but I was hoping to get a faster connection than that. I know I've got the server details right, I've checked them over a few times, and the same settings work on the Excell gateway, or when I fetch into Yahoo mail.

Any suggestions?

Cheers, Eddie
