Angry Duplicate Emails - Please fix it F2s

I'm sending this Email to F2s forum, because I know that its read by technical support and its useless getting in touch by phone or Email. I don't want to create a precedcent here; but my inbox is being flooded out again with duplicate Emails (Tuesday AM) so please F2s FIX IT!
I'm sorry if I'm misususing this Forum - but its just a measure of the pathetic and unprofessional so called customer service that I'm reduced to this. I am on the brink of leaving F2s because of the inability of cutomer service to perform; except that I am pretty sure, that like changing my bank, it won't make much difference.

Cutting and pasting from another thread (this may not be the reason but it hasn't been refuted.) - it doesn't actually help you but might explain why it happens...

There is another cause for duplicate emails. If you read them using POP3 (using Outlook for example), it generally works like this:
  1. Open a connection to the server.
  2. Read the list of messages.
  3. Download them one by one.
  4. Delete them from the server.
  5. Close the connection.

If something happens during stage 3 and the connection is broken then some (or all) emails will be downloaded before any are deleted. Then, next time you connect, they'll be downloaded again. This looks for all the world like duplicate messages.

I'm not saying this is the explanation this time, but it certainly does occur and might explain some instances.

Each you connect to collect emails and the delete part fails, it'll leave all the messages on the server so you'll download them again next time...

Big DITTO i'm getting sick of the duplicate email problem too and i'm normaly a very mellow customer. Come on F2S i really don't want to move all my domain details to another providor.

If you go into webmail you cannot delete the messages
Also no new message are added to the server while this problem is happening, they will only start appearing (slowly) when the problem is fixed

This is the first time (from yesterday) that I have had this problem with f2s. I know there have been problems with the server this weekend and I have only this afternoon (25th), received mail sent to me on 23rd. It was nice to finally receive it, but I didn't really need 28 duplicates of each email!

I have recommended F2S to quite a few people in the past as it was always such a good ISP. What has Pipex done?

It depends on your newsreader, but in my mail client, each email gets deleted just after it's downloaded, so the scenario you're describing is less likely to happen

etc

Now it could be that whatever is feeding the emails into your POP box at F2S's end is doing it twice, but I can't say I've had duplicate emails, and that's on the "problematic" @username.f2s.com boxes
