Duplicate Emails flooding my inbox

I'm getting the same Emails from the same addresses, time and time again. These duplicate Emails, are flooding my mailbox. They are legitimate Emails that have been sent just the one time, but they don't stop coming in. Yesterday I received 10 newsletter Emails from f2s. This morning I've got duplicate Emails flooding in every 5 minutes. I've contacted support but as it's the weekend I'm unlikely to hear from them till next week - that is if they bother to reply. Anybody else having this problem. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Looks like this may have started for me around 23:00 last night

My first impression is that POP3 download and delete from server (what most people use) is not working properly, download, but no delete. So every time a POP3 collection occurs, it will bring down all the email again.

Would recommend stopping POP3 collection till it is sorted, I'm going to look at whether it is possible to delete from WebMail, and possibly using IMAP

Thanks Karl. I appreciate your attention on this matter. In response to Colster, I logged into webmail and deleted the messages to no effect.

Just checked mine, seems to be working OK (for me)

You will need to purge the deleted emails, just marking it as deleted does not stop it being download by POP3

Duplicate E-Mails again

There was another problem this mornng with duplicate e-mails flooding my inbox. Having telephoned, the problem has now been fixed. As a new member and only just registered, why was this problem not listed when I signed on?

Because the problem is unique to you (and possibly a few others who have not bothered telling us about it)?

I get this quite frequently. My email client (Mac OS X Mail, although Outlook on XP has done it too) is set to delete email from the server once it's downloaded it, however sometimes every time it checks for new mail (every 2 minutes) it gets the same mail. I came home once to find 100s of the same emails in my inbox

Not being a technician but, if I am unique, why did f2s technical support tell me that there had been a problem and that it was now fixed?

Not being privy to your conversation with the F2S guy and what was actually said, I have no way of saying for sure, but it *is* possible that it was a problem that affected only you or only a number of users and was by no means anything other than a little local difficulty.

You can Delete from Webmail - but you can't Purge Delete - nothing happens. Any ideas why?

What do you mean you can't purge delete? I can do that fine.

Same problems here

E-mails downloaded every time send/receive is clicked. Delete them and they download again.

This is only on our name@name.f2s.com accounts.

Ok on name@f2s.com account.

Have raised a ticket.

EDIT : - Moderators ~ please can you move this to the other more current e-mail thread. Thanks.
