Webmail server maintenance

I have just updated the status in the F2S webpage with the statement below:

Quote:
We would like to give our customers advance notice of planned maintenance work on our webmail platform.

A recent review of freedom2surf’s mail platform has highlighted the need to improve both the platform and its architecture. Work on this equipment will start on Tuesday the 26th May and will be completed on Wednesday 27th May. At some point during this time customers will temporarily lose access to their mailbox; dependant on mailbox size, this temporary loss of mailbox access may occur for a period of anything up to 2 hours. Normal access to all mail services should resume on Thursday 28th May.

Any new emails received during this maintenance should be delivered as per normal. We will provide a further update when the maintenance work is completed.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Re: Webmail server maintenance

Will this planned maintenance fix the problem of very slow response, refused login and intermittent disconnections which I have been suffering from for weeks now ?

The maintenance work was planned to fix this issue so, after it is completed, all mail services should work with no problems...

Re: Webmail server maintenance

The mail maintenance has been re-scheduled and I just updated our status page with the statement below.

Quote:
The maintenance work on our mail server has been re-scheduled and will be completed in 4 stages in order to minimize disruption to our customers.

The first stage will run between 1 am and 5 am on Friday the 29th May. The next stages will run at the same time (from 1 am to 5 am) on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of June.

During this maintenance period customers will temporarily lose access to their mailbox. Any new emails received during this maintenance should be delivered as per normal. We will provide a further update when the full 4 stages of the maintenance work have been completed.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Re: Webmail server maintenance

Seems like a wiser and more sane approach this time.

Thanks Antonio.

Re: Webmail server maintenance

I am very glad to say that we managed to complete the mail server maintenance last nigh...

I have update the public ticket with the statement below.

Quote:
Our engineers were able to complete the whole of the planned maintenance last nigh and there is now no need to complete the planned 4th stage tonight. Service has been restored to the mail server with all mail services are working now as per normal.

The Webmail service is now running correctly. Please retest your Webmail access, if you continue to experience difficulties, please contact our support team.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
