Re: More incoming mail problems
If you are using a POP3 client it should be connecting OK to the server....
Could you please PM me one of the email addresses/password so I can have a look for you? If you are quick (next few minutes) I'll do it before I leave, if not, I'll have a look tonight. |

Re: More incoming mail problems
My Incoming mail has been flaky for most of the last week - very slow and occasional disconnects.
This morning it is again very slow and when I do manage to get logged in I am disconnected if I try to read a message or delete spam. I couldn't possibly have survived if it had been my prime e-mail account, and it's very irritating and disappointing. Josh |

Re: More incoming mail problems
Hi,
I have posted a Private Message to Antonio, thats the only way you can get things resolved, swiftly. I am experiencing the same intermittent problems with my mail on all accounts. (0x800CCCOF) Gary |

Weds 20 May incoming mail problems
Yes, having similar problems here with logging into various email accounts, both f2s and own domains. Seems to be no rhyme or season as to which ones connect and when. As I type this, two accounts have just connected that haven't for two hours, and one that did connect is now no longer doing so - argh! And yes, this is my main email account for my business...
PLEASE don't tell me that this is the start of another "we're taking over the company so let's change all the server configuration and muck everyone about for months" saga with TalkTalk... I'll bear with it until after lunch, and then it's an email to my friend and yours Antonio... What would this forum do without him?!

I say supposedly, as Pipex claimed there were memory and hardware issues with the freedom2surf email platform as designed by Nick ankd Chris, however, this platform, with it's supposed broken servers, performed to a far higher extent than any such platform ever did.

Re: More incoming mail problems
OK, post lunch and things seem to have calmed down - logging in much faster. The threat of Antonio seems to have done the trick!
Yes, Justin, I agree that the original email system was just fine, and robust connectivity was one of the main reasons I signed up to F2S in the first place. (My email history is so old I was an original Dircon user - who remembers them? Mind you, Dircon became Netscalibur became Claranet... Hang on, there's a pattern emerging here!) Right, time to get back to some work....

Re: More incoming mail problems
I've been having problems for several days, and they still persist, with both inmail.username.f2s.com and inmail.f2s.com.
Sometimes I can get a POP3 connection to the server, sometimes I can't. It's totally random. Sometimes I can try again immediately and it will work the second or third time. Sometimes multiple retries in quick succession doesn't work. If I do get a connection, authorisation on inmail.f2s.com is usually very slow. Nigel |

Re: More incoming mail problems
Yup, problems again, random issues connecting, same as yesterday. Will wait again until after lunch to see if it settles down; if it does, then I know my email has got morning sickness!!! If not, I shall invoke the hallowed name of Antonio.
Seriously, I do wonder why these random hiccups occur in a system that surely should just run, rather than keep faltering. But then, light bulbs shouldn't blow, but they do....

Re: More incoming mail problems
For a few hours yesterday the e-mail was working as it should,
BUT today it's back to very slow responses and lost connections. Very depressing Josh |

Re: More incoming mail problems
Do yourself a favour - abandon your f2s addresses, get gmail, your own domain, anything apart from F2S - I've done the same as I just can't rely on it.

Word has just reached me that they are going to implement another platform enhancement next week - watch out record!

Re: More incoming mail problems
Enhancement ...
How many new platforms will f2s need before they get one that works as well as the legacy platform before Pipex bought it, and drove the f2s'ers away? And then Tiscali promise a better platform and deliver more spam than mail.

Re: Weds 20 May incoming mail problems
If you look through how many times people have been fed the same story since the pipex takeover you will see why people are fed up with the number of times these issues are resulting in downtime to "fix" only for the "fix" to require another "fix" a few months later when similar problems rear their ugly head.

Re: More incoming mail problems
Justin, I understand perfectly your point and how people feel about this issue...
![]() But I think that we both would agree that, regardless of the wording that has been used on the statements in the past or on the latest one, or how cynical people's views are about the maintenance, the main issue here is that the problem that we have been experiencing during the last couple of weeks with webmail/imap is going to be fixed.... |
