mails to hotmail adresses
HI, well here we go again !! last had this trouble with sending mail to yahoo accounts being bounced back !!, now this evening at 10PM May 7 its happening again with hotmail accounts, no problems this PM, sent several to hotmail addresses, but not now, they are being bounced back with this message returned:
The following message to <*******@hotmail.com> was undeliverable. The reason for the problem: 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. Email/network admins, please visit MSN Postmaster for email delivery information and support' now these messages are normal messages that i have sent for YEARS !! what in hell is going on, surely not the spam filters, nah they only work on I/C mails, but I seem to remeber something about F2S being blacklisted by Yahoo, so had to open a yahoo account, which has been since deleted as no one now uses yahoo, only hotmail .. Regards Alan |

Re: hotmail adresses being bounced,
Hotmail is bouncing my freedom2surf email, it gets rejected as follows..
Looks like I (or pipex) has been blacklisted? On top of the massive amount of spam that get through to me despite having f2s' spam blocker turned on, I am not happy! Iain. Re: hotmail adresses being bounced,
Hi IanC
Yes I have had experience of and heard of this problem a couple of years back in attempting to E mail yahoo.com adresses, something then was mentioned that mail from this ISP was on some blacklist, that and or the spam filters were causing it,, but I do seem remember to recall that the filters were "altered" or something, because all was light in the world when I could send mail again, but the spam increased, but I did not mind that myself as long as I could send to Yahoo ( family in canada / U.S ) so I put up with the spam, but now having Vista with Windows Mail and its filters for the past year keeps a lot of it in check, so now here we go yet again with Hotmail adresses, but no problem with yahoo ones, but why ?? wonder if Antonio can sort something ? It is so bloody infuriating , because I have no problems otherwise with F2S / Tiscali, ok yes the occasional hiccup, but when I cannot "post" mail to friends / relatives thats when the blood boils ...............after all the postman has no trouble ![]() regards Alan |

Alan / Ian, you are not alone. My 80+ mother is having the same problem.
Does anyone know how to get this 'block' lifted? Cheers Andy |

Re: mails to hotmail adresses
BTW I am not bothered making these adresses public, its only my family members in the U.S and anyone writing from the U.K to them ,their mails will be deleted without being read.
Just for those who might want to for whatever reasons I cant think of, tho not any of the nice bunch on here ![]() But If the Moderator could delete the mail please after Antonio gets the info It would be appreciated, yes I admit I made a muck up not used to the Forum

But I now canot access my E mail server, I have my user name correct as in ***-f2s-com and my password is also entered correctly, but the odd thing is , my user name and password were not in the properties of Windows mail ? but now they are and I am now getting this message ..... Account: 'My Mail', Server: 'inmail.f2s.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Authentication failure, mate', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92 I probably should have starteda new thread oops |

Re: mails to hotmail adresses
I still think that mails to hotmail adresses are being bounced back to me, cos I run MS messenger and if an E mail arrives a window pops up on the task bar, I have sent 2/3 mails to my own hotmail adress and so far no pop up, cant check if thay have been bounced cos I still cannot access my mail box

Re: mails to hotmail adresses
Hi Tony
LOL, understand the feeling, well at least you can read the bounced messages, am still without incoming mail access here, tho can send, just set up a yahoo account as well as my old hotmail one, seems as if they may well be needed in future as I do feel a MAC code coming on, I have never ever experienced this since signing up to F2S in 2002 ( I think) .. ok technology goes wrong, we all accept that, but when you are not informed as to what s going on you kinda get a little peeved ...after all we do pay for the "service" (sounds like an old worn out record that one) .. I dread to think what the future holds under carphone whor.....oops warehouse Regards Alan |

Re: mails to hotmail adresses
I seem to be amongst good company in that all mail to a hotmail account from any of my F2s accounts gets bounced (and has done since Friday morning).
Can't even log a ticket as the F2S "ask a Question" page is broken. Can the attention to customer service get any worse...... oh yes. My neighbour is on TalkTalk and their service is cr*p. After being with f2s from their beginning, I feel a move coming on. |

Re: mails to hotmail adresses
Hi daisypod
The term "join the club" springs to mind , I recall the same thing happening with Yahoo.com mails some good time back, was supposed to be something to do with their spam filters of some such ?, they tweaked them or something ? , the spam increased but the Yahoo mails got thru, cos the I/C mails were spammed out as well, but I remember saying at home here that I would rather have the spam as long as the yahoo stuff got through, hotmail is coming in ok, just tested it, but still no outgoing to them..Windows mail on Vista deletes a lot of spam, but then again I am not running a business, must be pain if you were..but back to hotmail..........Regards Alan |

Re: mails to hotmail adresses
I agree with the whole out of control spam thing!! Its at ridiculous proportions, but as you say...windows mail is catching most of it.
So I presume with the mail bouncing back from hotmail we just have to wait and see if anythings done....and ring the dreaded tech suppot on Mon. |
