Domain Details Opt out

How can I opt out?
If you are a non-trading individual, you will be able to opt-out of the WHOIS by speaking to your registration agent who in turn will modify the domain name record held by us on your behalf so that your address details are not displayed.

Can anyone opt out?
Only domain name holders that are non-trading individuals can opt-out of having their address details published. In other words, if you do not use or plan to use your domain name for business, trade or professional transactions you will be entitled to opt-out of having your address displayed.

I have a number of domain names which are non-trading - which are hosted by F2S.

Can F2S opt these out for me?

If they are domains ending in .uk (ie controlled by Nominet) then yes. Send an email to domainadmin@freedom2surf.net asking for it to be done. Sending to that email address seems to be a lot quicker than getting it done using the ticket system (in my experience).

Thanks but mine are .com and .org. How can these be opted out?

I don't believe you can opt out on .com and .org addresses. What you read on the Nominet site only applies to tlds they control, and they don't control .com and .org.

Hi Mark,

Yes but this is only uk domains through nominet (ie .co.uk, me.uk etc.) Its not available for International domains (.com, .net etc) as these are through a different registrar.
